Update jailbreaked iOS to 4.3.3 Jailbreak

  • Is your iPhone Jailbreaked? Do you want to update it to the latest iOS (jailbreak avail iOS) without losing any of your data? ( Except your cydia app settings. I’m working on this ), then read further.

    You will be able to update to the latest Jailbreak without losing your contacts, messages, music and photos, App Store Apps, Cydia Apps and Installous Apps. What more??

    1. Download the latest iOS 4.3.3 from here.
    2. Download redsn0w the jailbreak software from here.

    Let the above two activities happen in the background. Meanwhile you have some exercises to do with your iPhone.

    In your iPhone

    1. Open Cydia. Goto Manage > Sources and note down all the urls.
    2. Download AptBackup from Cydia and install
    3. Open AptBackup and click the “Backup” button
    4. Open Installous (if you have). Goto settings and switch on iTunes Sync
       

    5. Connect your phone to your PC.

    In your PC

    1. Open iTunes. (You will see the device connected).
    2. GoTo File > Transfer Purchase from your iPhone
    3. On competition RIGHT CLICK the device icon and select Backup
    4. Open the drive iPhone from My Computer/Finder and copy all the images to the database (more precaution)

    Now you are ready for an update. You must be having your iOS 4.3.2 ipsw file by now. Keep your iPhone connected to iTunes.

    Update your iPhone

    1. Hold Shift/CMD and press the RESTORE button on itunes.
    2. Select your ipsw file and continue
    3. Once updated iTunes will end up with a screen to restore from last Backup.
      We will do that later.
    4. Its Jailebreak time.

    Jailbreaking and Restoring Cydia Apps

    1. Now Jailbreak using redsn0w. Click here for the tutorial
    2. On Completion, Open Cydia > Mange Account and Enter your login details if you had any paid purchase.
    3. Check you have all the cydia source. If not add which you don’t have.
    4. Now connect your iPhone back to itunes and restore from last back up.
    5. On completion iTunes will start syncing. CANCEL THIS SYNC.
    6. Download AptBackup, from Cydia.
    7. Open AptBacukup and Click restore.
    8. This will re-install all your Cydia Apps.

    Time to Sync

    Now go ahead and sync your iPhone with your itunes.
